Eco-building programsSustainable Offset Paper Products
No industry has moved faster or worked harder to become sustainable than the paper milling industry, both in Australia and internationally.

Lane Print & Post supports and applauds these efforts, and encourages its clients to ‘choose and use’ sustainable papers - either newly manufactured or recycled.

The papers we offer are sourced from Environmentally Responsible Paper Merchants (who are able to provide a range of FSC Certified papers and papers with strong environmental credentials). We seek and promote stocks that conform with the following criteria:

  • Australian Made
  • EMS (Environmental Management Systems)
  • TCF (Totally Chlorine Free)
  • ECF (Elemental Chlorine Free)
  • FSC (Forest Stewardship Council)
  • PEFC (Promoting Sustainable Forest Management)
  • Recycled
  • Nordic (Environmental Label)
  • ENVI - Australia’s first government-accredited carbon neutral paper

Sustainable Pre-Press services
Lane Print & Post was one of the first companies in South Australia to embrace CTP (Computer-to-Plate) technologies, installing CTP systems to eliminate volatile chemical film and plate processing in 2004.

Sustainable Printing
Lane Print & Post was the first company in South Australian to recognise the energy and environmental savings to be made through the use of perfecting presses (which allow for both sides of the sheet to be printed in a single pass) and was first, in July 2004, to install an 8-colour perfecting press. Perfecting presses provide for energy savings of up to 55% compared to standard, non-perfecting presses, greatly reducing energy use at the heart of the printing process.

Environmental Inks
Lane Print & Post has used soy-based vegetable inks continuously since 2002 - soon after these were first developed in Europe to replace petroleum based inks.

Varnish Free Production
Lane Print & Post’s advanced printing systems have also allowed for a dramatic reduction in the use of protective varnishes to text pages. All major publications are produced varnish free.

Totally Degradable Bagging
Lane Print & Post enforces the use of Food Grade, TDPATM plastics when undertaking mailing for magazine publishers and the like. TDPA films are food contact compliant; can be recycled along with other plastics and are totally degradable - becoming environmentally benign when discarded.

Sustainable mailing
Lane Print & Post supports and encourages the use of environmentally responsible letter stocks and envelopes in all forms of transactional (variable data) printing and mailing, and is able to provide clients with a complete range of environmentally responsible paper and envelope choices.
